DecaTrait

Approach To Success

Purpose

While the present professional education trains professionals on the scientific concepts related to their profession, it seldom addresses the many career and life skills needed to achieve sustained success. The DecaTrait approach aims to provide the average working professional with practical tools to help deal with many common themes that arise in daily work life. These include how to find a satisfying job, how to influence and lead people, how to innovate and perform research, to name a few.

Introduction

The DecaTrait Approach is a ten-pronged approach that Prof. Mukund has extracted from the Vedic thought process about holistic success in life. The concept of success is not limited to personal or professional advancement. It is inclusive of inner character building and living meaningful life. These principles are Jnyana, Bhakti, Vairagya, Pragnya, Medha, Dhruti, Stithi, Yoga, Prana and Bala. They can be loosely translated as Knowledge, Passion, Detached attachment, Awareness of the self, Absorption, Confidence, Conviction, Balance, Vitality and Strength. In the Shastra, they have been referred to as Dasha Prameya, and Lord Hanuman is the embodiment of all ten of these traits.

He has taught it to generations of engineering students who have gone on to very successful careers. He aims to share it with a broader audience based on his success of over twenty years on this topic. Dissemination of these hidden gems from the Ancient Indian tradition to all, especially youth, is the DecaTrait Institute's main aim. As success breeds success, we want to share and see a successful and blissful individual in society. Moreover, we want individuals to explore and utilize their unique interests and abilities while doing any work by sharing individual experiences for the common good.
